RECOMMENDATION:                     

Recommendation                     

Staff recommends the City Council make an appointment to the Public Arts Commission with a term continuing to June 30, 2019 and make an appointment to the Parks and Community Events Commission with a term continuing to June 30, 2019.

BACKGROUND:

A vacancy currently exists on the Pubic Arts Commission due to the resignation of Sue Townsley and a vacancy currently exists on the Parks and Community Events Commission due to the resignation of Karen Panico-Willis.

 

 

DISCUSSION:

The vacancy on the Public Arts Commission and Parks and Community Events Commission were posted as required by the Government Code 54974 and applications were accepted through Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at the end of the business day.  A total of 5 applications were received, three for Public Arts Commission and two for the Parks and Community Events Commission.  Interviews were conducted during Study Session on February 8, 2017.

 

Based on the interviews conducted the City Council is appointing the following:

 

                                                                                     to the Public Arts Commission with a term continuing to June 30, 2019.

 

                                                                                     to the Parks and Community Events Commission with a term continuing to June 30, 2019.

 

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact results from making appointments to the Commissions.
