Body

BACKGROUND:

Within the Cathedral City limits, sewer service is either provided by Desert Water Agency (DWA) of the Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) dependent on a property's location.  Within each of these utilities service areas there are areas where the public sewer infrastructure is nonexistent.

DISCUSSION:

Typically when onsite septic systems fail within the City, constituents call and ask City Staff what can be done to be able to "hook up" to a permanent utility operated sewer collection system.

This presentation will point out the areas that are not connected to the utility operated sewer collection systems and what it takes to form an assessment district to install the required sewer infrastructure.
