RECOMMENDATION:                     

Recommendation                     

Staff recommends the City Council make an appointment to the Palm Springs International Airport Commission to fill an unexpired term continuing through June 30, 2018 and make an appointment to Public Arts Commission to fill an unexpired term continuing to June 30, 2018.

BACKGROUND:

The Palm Springs International Airport Commission seat is currently vacant due to the resignation of John Haag and the Public Arts Commission currently has one vacancy due to the resignation of Commissioner Simeon Den.

 

 

DISCUSSION:

The vacancy on the Palm Springs International Airport Commission and the Public Arts Commission was posted as required by Government Code and applications were accepted through October 19, 2016, at the end of the business day.  Five applications were received for the Palm Springs International Airport Commission and three were received for the Public Arts Commission.  Council conducted interviews during study session on October 26, 2016.

 

Based on the interviews conducted the City Council is appointing the following:

 

Palm Springs International Airport Commission:

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact results from making appointments to the Commissions.
