MEETING DATE: 9/11/2018
TITLE:
Title
Accept a Declaration of Dedication for a Portion of Landau Boulevard at the Northeast Corner of Ramon Road and Landau Boulevard
End

FROM:
John Corella, City Engineer

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Adopt the Resolution accepting the real property described in the Declaration of Dedication recorded on February 28, 1966, as Instrument No. 21262 in Official Records of Riverside County, for public road and public utility purposes, and accepting the public improvements thereon into the City maintained street system.

This Project will include road improvements and widenings extending from San Luis Rey at the West to Candlewood Drive at the east. These widenings have required the acquisition of additional rights of way and the investigation of ownerships and title issues on various properties.
During right-of-way research on the north side of Ramon Road, at Landau Boulevard, it was discovered that a 10-ft. wide portion of Landau at the northeast corner had been offered for dedication in 1966 for the widening of Landau, but had not been formally accepted by the County.

In order to clear up this "gap" in the Landau Boulevard right of way, it is recommended that the City, as successor to the County by incorporation, now formally accept the offer of dedication made in 1966 and accept the street improvements made years ago into the City maintained street system.
A Resolution making the formal acceptance has been prepared and is attached. A copy of the recorded Declaration of Dedication recorded in 1966 and a vicinity sketch showing the land involved is also attached for reference.

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact due to this action. The road improvements have been in existence for many years and are already a part of the City's maintenance ...
