Staff recommends the City Council authorize the purchase of two (2) 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 dump trucks for the Public Works Department.
Body
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department is currently operating two 2007 Ford dump trucks and after 11 years of daily use the dump trucks need replacement. There are significant maintenance and body issues with both dump trucks.
DISCUSSION:
Staff obtained bids from local dealers and recommend the purchase of (2) new diesel operated 2018 Chevrolet Silverado dump trucks at a total price not to exceed $113,148.72 ($56,574.36 each) which includes tax, tags and license fees. The purchase will come from Jessup Motors in Cathedral City.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Replacement of the vehicles is funded in the equipment replacement fund.
