Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council interview the applicants that have submitted applications for possible appointment to fill one unexpired term on the Parks and Community Events Commission.

BACKGROUND:
On May 25, 2016, the City Council accepted the resignation of Arianna Menon from the Parks and Community Events Commission.
Pursuant to California Government Code Section 54974, a Notice of Unscheduled Vacancy on the Parks and Community Events Commission was posted in the three designated posting location as well as the City's Website and Face Book page with a deadline of June 16, 2016 by the close of business.
The unexpired term on the Parks and Community Events Commission will continue through June 30, 2018.
DISCUSSION:
The following individuals submitted an application to the City Clerk's Office prior to the deadline:
Karyn Barnes
Sarah Clapp
Conrad Corral
Mary Beth Hunt
Pattie McGinty-Hagerdorn
Mary Beth Hunt applied in January 2016, however, she was not appointed at that time and would like to be considered once again. Pattie McGinty-Hagerdorn and Karyn Barnes will be out of town at the time of the interviews. Pattie McGinty-Hagerdorn is not available for a phone interview, however, she would still like her application to be considered. Karyn Barnes is available for a phone interview and if it is the Council's desire staff will call her when it is her turn based on the procedure for the interview process.
Staff recommends that the following be the procedure for the interview process:
* All applicants will assemble in the Council Chambers at 4:30 p.m.
* A computerized random number draw will be conducted for the order of the interviews.
* All applicants, other than the one being interviewed first, will be asked to wait outsid...
