BACKGROUND:
City Council is considering placing a ballot measure in November for voter consideration to change from a General Law City to a Charter City.
DISCUSSION:
Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates (“FM3”) was engaged to conduct a city wide survey of registered voters to determine the community’s interest in moving from a General Law City to a Charter City. In addition, FM3 tested the interest in a Street & Pole Hole repair tax measure as well as a tax measure to support Senior & Children services. FM3 will present the results of the survey.
Council will also discuss the most recent draft of the Charter and consider possible revisions based on the public survey results.
