Body
BACKGROUND:
On April 13 the City Council adopted Change of Zone 16-001 as follows:
A Motion was made by Mayor Henry, seconded by Council Member Carnevale, to approve the associated exemption to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to section 15601(b)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines; and waive further reading, approve the introduction and first reading, by title only, an Ordinance of the City Council of Cathedral City, California, Amending the Official Zoning Map from OS-R20-H (Open space Residential with 20 acres minimum net lot size, with a hillside overlay) to OS (Open Space) for 12 properties (Excludes APN 687-040-058 and APN 681-300-011 to remain open space residential) of approximately 98 acres generally located on the south side of East Palm Canyon Drive between the Western City Boundary and Bankside Drive. Motion carried with Council Member Kaplan voting No and Mayor Pro Tem Pettis being Absent.
DISCUSSION:
The action taken by the City Council on April 13, 2016 changes the current zoning of the area of the South City Border from OS-R to OS. This action requires a second reading by title only.
