BACKGROUND:
Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) sent a letter to City Manager McClendon indicating that they would like to share a brief presentation about potential changes and increases to their structure and rates.
DISCUSSION:
Jim Barrett, General Manager CVWD, will provide a presentation to the City Council regarding the above mentioned potential changes and increases to their rates and the reasons for them.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None at this time. The City spends a significant amount on water usage through accounts with CVWD. The total for FY 13-14 was about $175,000; in FY14-15 the total was approximately $140,000; and is on a pace to total about $120,000 in FY 15-16 (plus up to $30,000 in drought penalties).
