BACKGROUND:
On March 11, 2015, the City Council held a study session discussion regarding the possible adoption of a Cathedral City historic preservation ordinance. As a result of the discussion, the City Council directed the formation of an ad-hoc committee, the Historic Preservation Task Force, comprised of members from other City Committees and Commissions as well as Council Members Kaplan and Carnevale with City Staff to facilitate the meetings.
DISCUSSION:
The Historic Preservation Task Force held a number of meetings, investigated and discussed the various issues and created a draft ordinance (see attached). Staff will present the findings, recommendations and the related draft ordinance to the City Council for discussion and direction.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no directly related fiscal impact at this time.
