Staff recommends that the City Council receive a quarterly update presentation from the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce.
Body
BACKGROUND:
The City Council approved the FY2015/16 Chamber of Commerce Service Provider Agreement on June 22, 2015. The first quarter of the fiscal year has concluded and the Chamber's quarterly Activity Report has been submitted in accordance with the Agreement.
DISCUSSION:
The Chamber of Commerce Service Provider Agreement with the City includes a Scope of Services that specifies the work to be performed by the Chamber on behalf of the City. The Agreement also requires that the Chamber submit a quarterly Activity Report outlining the services it has provided during the quarter in accordance with the approved Scope. Upon receipt of the Report, a City subcommittee comprised of Mayor Henry and Mayor Pro Tem Pettis, City Manager Charlie McClendon and Economic Development Manager Leisa Lukes meets with Chamber representatives to review and discuss the activities identified in the Report.
The Activity Report for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2015/16 (July 1 - September 30) was approved at the meeting held on October 7 and is attached for your information. Interim Executive Director Leigh VanderStoep and Chamber Chairwoman Valerie Ward will present to the City Council the highlights of the Chamber's activities for this first quarter.
