Staff recommends the City Council approve the Resolution for a Street Name Change from Ocatillo Road to Ocotillo Road.

BACKGROUND:
On the original tract map, El Rancho Grande, approved in 1955 by the County of Riverside, the street was officially established as "Ocatillo Road". The name is recognized by other agencies and utility companies as well as on maps.
DISCUSSION:
The City Council has initiated a street name change from Ocatillo Road to the more common spelling of "Ocotillo" Road. As applicant, a petition of the affected property owners and payment of the filing fee is not required as prescribed in Municipal Code Section 14.07.070B.
There are 14 lots, of which 3 are undeveloped, that will be affected by the proposed street name change. Informational letters as well as public hearing notices were mailed to each of the property owners and residents of the affected lots. No comments were received.
The Planning Department and Development Service Committee have reviewed the proposed street name change and recommend approval by the City Council. The City Council is the designated body to hear and approve street name changes.
If approved, official notice will be sent to other agencies, utility companies and mapping services of the street name change.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact to the City.
