RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council review the attached existing Cathedral City Municipal Code (CCMC) 8.50, "Sewer Connections", discuss the ordinance and provide direction to staff.

BACKGROUND:
On December 11, 2002 The Cathedral City Council adopted Ordinance # 572 requiring newly constructed buildings and structures with plumbing facilities to connect to an available public sewer system prior to the issuance of a temporary or final certification of occupancy and requiring all existing buildings and structures with plumbing facilities to connect to an available public sewer system prior to the sale and transfer of ownership on or before January 1, 2012, whichever, shall occur first.
DISCUSSION:
Over ten years has passed since the City of Cathedral City first adopted ordinance 572 establishing Chapter 8.50 of the CCMC entitled "Sewer Connections". Staff will provide the City Council with a review of the Municipal Code, and an update on local compliance. Once City Council has reviewed and discussed the Municipal Code it may wish to provide staff with direction if necessary.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no projected immediate fiscal impact to the City
