Body

BACKGROUND:
The City presents the First Sunday's Gourmet Food Truck Fare on the first Sunday of each month from 11 am to 3 pm featuring gourmet food trucks and music provided by Coachella Valley Art Scene (CVAS).

CVAS would like to conduct a fundraiser to expand, support and highlight art in Cathedral City.  The fundraiser consists of hosting 4-5 live musical bands and the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus as well as a beer garden during the normal gourmet food truck hours.  Proceeds will benefit CVAS, a 501c3 organization located in Cathedral City.  La Quinta Brewing Company and Coachella Valley Brewing Company are donating the beer to CVAS.

DISCUSSION:
The Cathedral City Professional Firefighters Association conducted a similar fundraiser for National Fire Prevention Week.  It went well without any incidents.  CVAS will provide security and insurance and secure all permits necessary.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Adding the fundraiser to the First Sunday's Gourmet Food Truck Fare will only create a minimal impact, mostly the creation of the beer garden perimeter using the metal crowd control barriers.  CVAS will be responsible for the setting-up and tearing down.
